Downloading and Installing RSC Files
Follow these steps to download RSC files and install the product.
1.Download RSC documentation files.
Download the RSC Installation Guide and RSC User's Guide in either PostScript or Adobe Acrobat format, and the RSC Release Notes.
Read the RSC Installation Guide, and decide on initial RSC configuration, following instructions in the guide. When you run the RSC
configuration script in step 3, the script will prompt you for this configuration information.
2.If you are logged in to a computer running the Solaris operating environment, download the file RSC.sh.
Run this file to install Solaris client software, and server software if you are logged in to a Sun Enterprise 250 server. Issue this command as
superuser:
# sh RSC.sh
3.Run the RSC configuration script.
Issue this command as superuser:
# /usr/platform/sun4u/sbin/rsc-config
Refer to the configuration information you decided on in step 1, and respond to the prompts to configure RSC.
4.If you are logged in to a Sun Enterprise 250 server running the Solaris 2.6 operating environment that has SunVTS software
installed, and you want to be able to run the SunVTS test for RSC, you need to install the unbundled test rsctest.
Create a temporary directory and download the file rsctest.tar.Z into it.
Change directory to the directory into which you downloaded the tar file.
Uncompress the tar file using this command as superuser:
# uncompress rsctest.tar.Z
Extract the SUNWvtsrc package using this command:
# tar xvf rsctest.tar
Use this command to install the SunVTS test rsctest:
# pkgadd -d .
Note: The pkgadd command fails if SunVTS software is not already installed. The package places the rsctest reference pages in
/opt/SUNWvts/bin/rsctest.ps. You must also install the RSC software for the test to appear in SunVTS.
5.If you are logged in to a computer running the Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT operating environment (or if you want to
download the Windows install software to a computer running the Solaris operating environment for Windows users to copy
later), download the file SunRsc.exe.
To install client software on a client machine running the Windows operating environment, run the file SunRsc.exe.
