Job Description:
Should be an excellent team member. Should work within defined periphery. 
Should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. Should be 
proactive and non hesitant to take up any kind of calls related to site 
support, expansions etc. Should be able to add value to the IT team by 
defining better processes. 

Roles & Responsibilites:
You should carry out Unix related tasks for the site Should be strong in 
unix basics (solaris/linux) Creating user accounts and project accounts 
for the new joiners Creation and maintenance of NIS groups and automounts. 
Configuring Printers and trouble shooting the same. Day to day server related 
activities, regular maintenance like reading the log files etc. and also 
basic trouble shootings and documentations. Patch upgrade for the servers 
and maintaining process status sheet and other records regularly. Should 
be able to help the site engineers in installation and configuration of new 
servers following the defined process guidelines. Documentation related to 
servers, site inventory etc to be build and maintained as per the site 
requirement. Should have good knowledge about networking services like 
IP addressing, DNS, DHCP WINS etc. Should be able to monitor and close 
all the helpdesk calls assigned to him in an efficient and scheduled 
manner. Should be able to handle all kinds of unix Servers/desktop 
related calls like arranging for machines and installation of standard 
OS and software Should co-ordinate for all hardware and software related 
calls for SUN and Linux Machines Servers. Should have knowledge of 
clearcase. Should be able to co ordinate with netapp support engineers 
to close any netapp related issues in the shortest possible time. 
Should be able to setup the environment required for projects or 
applications based on Unix(for instance finding pkg dependencies 
and installing them) Should have knowledge of Citrix and close 
calls related to the same.
